Rate the websites and WWDC comments

Folks,

Rate the Consultants' Websites

About three weeks ago one of the consultants on the Apple Consultants' Network tech list asked for examples of good consultants websites. Various folks recommended different websites, but I decided to write a WebObjects app that allows people to rate websites. Go ahead and add your ratings and comments at:

WWDC

Just a few comments and questions on the WWDC Keynote speech:

  1. XServe with redundant power supplies -- a big win for large IT shops. But it's cheating to claim that since the XServes won't be shipping until October. It also means that there's going to be a new build of Mac OS X Server that is qualified on Intel soon.
  2. Time Machine -- How well does it scale? How does it work with Mac OS X Server and network home directories and portable home directories? How does it handle FileVault? Can you disable it for some parts of your system (e.g. caches)? What are the security implications of the backups?
  3. Spaces -- Can I have two windows form the same app in different spaces?
  4. Spotlight -- What are the security implications for network searches?
  5. iChat Theater -- What does the developer API look like? Can I feed this kind of functionality into QTSS?

Anyway, I'm here for the whole show, so drop me a line on my cell phone if you're around.
